LAURA WATSON-JOISCE


Health and fitness has played a huge part in my life and it is an area I have always been passionate about. I have been active in fitness since I was 8 yrs of age.  I started working out in the gym at the age of 14 and begged my dad to let me use the gym with him. That's when I joined my first gym. I did karate from the age of 10 and gained my black belt at the age of 13.  I was rewarded with various grading and sparring form trophies.  


Fitness became my passion, so I started coaching friends, family and co-workers.  I was a member at Greens Health and Fitness in Gosforth and they kindly offered me the opportunity to work for their club after I had been to college to get the right qualifications. 

I worked there for a year or so and wanted to Personal Train.  After being on a Body Combat course at David Lloyds in Newcastle I was offered the opportunity to work there and gain my Personal Training qualification along with various BTS classes such as Pump, Balance, RPM and Attack.  Combat being my favourite as it compliments my martial arts background.
In January 2008 I went on to be a freelance Personal Trainer and set up Lifestyle Solutions.  I train a wide variety of people including, specialist area training, people who just want to lose weight & tone up, brides to be etc. 

My workouts are challenging and fun.  I want my clients to look forward to their workout, enjoy it and achieve their goals.
In Jan 2011 i became a mother and i know how important & frustrating it is to get back into shape and fitness back to pre pregnancy level.  This is why i set up my mother and baby fitness class using exercises with the pushchair.
I have set up a bootcamp and Nordic Walking classes to help mothers like myself to meet others in the same situation.  Mothers can workout together and bring their baby along with them.  

From 2007 i started bootcamps at Seaton Sluice Beach which have then evolved to various areas throughout Northumberland and Newcastle.  

I have put on various successful charity fitness events for MND- The Scott Bell Fund & The Anthony Nolan Fund in memory of a great friend and fitness fanatic Rob Wright.

2013 has lead to me expanding my business and taking on Personal trainers.

In 2014 we started a father, daughter business.  With my dad also being a personal trainer we decided to work together.  

2015 at present i am waiting for my second son to be born due in August.  Bootcamps will continue as i take 2 months off for maternity leave and i will look forward to starting up buggy bootcamps again at the end of the year.

 I have been physically active throughout my adult life so I know how it feels to be on the sharp end of a trying training regime.This first hand knowledge will help me to push your boundaries towards your goal in a safe and measured way .

My early adult years were spent on the rugby pitch at club level, and rugby is still a passion of mine, though as a spectator now. Injury forced early retirement, but didn't dent my enthusiasm for all types of sport.

Resistance or weight training has always been a passion of mine, as I believe it is vital to any training regime. I am a fully qualified gym instructor with many years of personal experience in gym environments.

I am a fully qualified and insured Personal Trainer and Gym Instructor.

 I have run successful fitness classes at well known health and fitness centres and large business premises in the Newcastle area.   

It is in the field of martial arts, in particular Karate, that a great deal of my experience lies. It is in this field that I have built up a wealth of knowledge, coaching adults and children. I am currently a  4th Dan Blackbelt and ran my own very successful club for many years, coaching students to prepare for black belt examinations, and  national and international fighting championships.  My knowledge in this field along with my general fitness coaching experience means I am well equipped to cater for your needs.  

I also spent 2 years instructing police officers locally in personal safety and self defence techniques.
